Sew-Along : V9345 Vogue 9345

This dress has a very chic 70’s vibe with a fitted bodice and the big collar, yoke with forward shoulder and no shoulder seams.

This is the pattern I am going to use today. If you see A, B, C: It is a Full skirt with a narrow hem.

D, E, F is a Straight skirt with front pleat detail, back darts and stitched hem.

It gives you different lengths and sleeve variations..

I have done veiw D with straight sleeves. I didn’t hack the pattern this time. I used size 8 and B cup. It has separate pattern pieces for A, B, C, and D bust cup sizes.

so you need to check your right size and pick your preferred patterns.

This is the fabric I am going to use for todays project.

It is a Stretch Woven Viscose. 56” widths and it is medium weight .

Minerva dot com has gifted it to me to try it out. Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity.

The prints and the color is perfect for my 70’s vibe dress.

If you like this fabric and want to know the fabric detail, please find the link.

Stretch Woven Viscose Bengaline Fabric

74% Viscose, 22% Polyester, 4% Elastane

This is a stretchy fabric but the stretching is selvage line direction which means It is not really normal. a lot of times, the crosswise has the most amount of stretch going. This means,,, I need to give extra attention to stitch the seams just in case The panels are stretched out.

I was not sure if i need to cut the crosswise line as the grainline. well but i indeed cut it as usual and I decided to give extra care for the stitching.

I have added interfacing tape after the interfacing for the facing panels and the collar.

also for the main front panels, I have attached the interfacing tape for the curved seams to stay as much as possible.

I would love to use this pattern again and i might hack the skirt next time. if you are curious about what i am going to do. please don't forget to like and subscribe my youtube channel so you won’t miss anything.
