Hi guys This week, I am going to share my journey about my first knitted sweater.
I made this beautiful sweater for my husband. I have only learned granny squares and made some stuff with that but it was totally my first time to learn the crochet to make a garment.
It was so hard and difficult and also really slow. but it was so much fun and now i want to do something else!
I bought this PDF pattern. It is for intermediates. and I am of course not. but This was the only design my husband would wear so I just started my challenge.
I was a bit nervous since I am self taught and learned crochet only from youtube.
I attended a local crochet class and learned how to read / understand the instruction and some beginning skills.
Something like how to count rows.
and I bought this yarn from a local shop. I bought 11 balls for size L. (It was just perfect) . It is 90% Acrylic and 10 Alpaca. My husband chose this color. It is a very nice burgundy and Red brick color. mixed with a little bit of yellow. so it is between red and orange. Just like Autumn leaves. This is really lovely.
Yarn James C Brett / Aran /
I am working on one of the sleeves.
I checked the size of him. I started XL size just in case L is too tight on him. but the XL was too big for him and He doesn’t like a baggy fit. So I unraveled and started over. 🙄
I have worked the front panel this much.
This looks so nice. It is actually a lot of fun.
This is how I make the cables for the front.
I will leave the pattern information just in case you are interested. you can check her youtube and you would be able to check the whole knitting process in much detail.

Repeat the same pattern.
and Back side of the Front panel.
Back post double Crochet
Half Double Crochet
Back Post Double Crochet
and so on.
Half Double Crochet for the front both sides.
So I did all of the panels. Yay, Finally.
I am so happy that I actually could finish this.
Before connecting them, I blocked all the pcs.
and then stitched around the seams.
He absolutely loves the pullover. It is a very comfy and timeless design to wear.
He wears a L for American size and the L size was excellent for his size.
For a beginner like me, The instruction doesn't even look like english. but there is a youtube tutorial and it helped a lot.
I started it in july and finished it in Nov. which means It only took 4 months. I am just so happy that i could finish this before my husband’s birthday.
I highly recommend the pattern if you are still hesitant.
