DIY | A bed sheet into a dress without a pattern

Hello Everyone. My name is Rena. This week, I am going to show you how to make this cute summer dress without a pattern.

I bought it from Ikea for my guest bedroom. I think It was only 4 pound something and then I realized that it was not the right size. so I have kept it for like a year now and I decided to transfer it into dress.

This is easy to make and just fun to wear for summer vacation.

I measure from my high bust down to my low bust to determine the length.

and I prepare the elastic band (0.5mm).

I just casually wrap myself with the elastic band and cut it.

I make it slightly tighter as you can see. and wrap the chest here and do the same as before.

I am done measuring and am cutting the fabrics here. just in case you are curious what sizes I cut. Please review the below sewing video .

I sew the shoulder ties first.

and put the front body and back body right side together.

fold this in half to mark center back & front. and fold it in half again to mark the quarter points.

The front & back have now been divided into 4 equal quarters.

Attach the shoulder ties at the points.

Make top/bottom casing for the elastic band to go through later.

Add Elastic bands.

Gather the tier and attach it. and That is it!

I have uploaded how to gather in detail. please find the last blog(link below) and check it out if you want to know step by step.

It doesn't need a zipper or a lining. so i think sewing beginner can try to make it.

The shoulder tie straps have added a little something extra. 😍 You can go with large or small bow tie shoulder dress options!

Please let me know if you have any question. Happy sewing to all. :)
