DIY -Mini Dress with a Liberty Tana Lawn Fabric

Material
  1. Main fabric - Liberty cotton

  2. Sub fabric - polyester in black

  3. Sewing pattern - Ojayroom OJDR0001

I made a dress that is easy to make and doesn't request any other sewing accessaries besides a main fabric.

Plus If you use a main fabric with medium or heavy weight, or something similar, you won’t even need a lining .

This time, i used a liberty fabric to make this dress! How beautiful, isn’t it? The fabric made it everything!

Let me share my sewing review!

Fabric

This is a cotton fabric from liberty. I pay a lot of attention when i cut the fabric since this is not cheap to play around with casually .😆 I love liberty fabric since they are really high quality cotton like silky , soft , super light and not wrinkly at all.

Furthermore , The print!! The color and the textile!!! They are so gorgeous!!!

I was not sure when i checked it on online at first (I guess I should say I couldn't imagine what it will look like) but this was just fabulous in real life once I opened the package. The color & the textile are so bright , vivid and elegant.

If you have a chance to meet this fabric, don't miss it out!

100% Liberty Tana Lawn

Product name: GLASTONBURY ( A )

Fabric Type: TanwLawn Cotton

Composition: 100% Cotton

Care: Wash 40°C, line dry

Pattern

I hacked the original pattern. This was originally a relaxed fit mid-length dress pattern but I separated the top and bottom and added the gathered skirt at the top part.

I like this pattern because it still fits very well even though it is a relaxed fit. not too baggy or over sized. So It is fun to play around this pattern. Plus it doesn't require a zipper or buttons which makes life much easier.

It is a full lined dress since the tana lawn cotton is light & thin. I had to add a lining.

I wanted to use a cotton for the lining as well but I only had a poly this time. so i used the black poly fabric for the lining.

I made it a mini dress to wear with boots and also because I am small.

I fixed the shoulder straps instead of ties like the pattern offers.

I visited wivenhoe last weekend to enjoy the nice autumn weather in this new handmade dress. How was your weekend?
