I made the pants for my friend this time because I am sure she would wear these more than I would, and It was fun to test the pattern on someone else.
She normally wears a Size 8 or 10 and I used size 10 for her. I made it a slim fit and didn't change anything, but I skipped the back pockets and the piping details
I used dark blue suiting fabric. It is medium weight twill suiting and was perfect to make the trousers. It doesn't have any stretch so I had to check her fit several times.
It was really easy to sew and easy to understand the instructions. The drawing would probably have been explanatory enough for a complete beginner. I added pants cuffs to give a small extra touch.
The pattern has so many detail options to choose from, which inspired me a lot with so many different designs and mood to choose from. I would like to make my own next time with all the recommended details.
The pattern fits just perfectly for my friend. She said it is really comfortable and a ready to wear design for any kind of occasion.
I didn't need to shorten or lengthen the length for her, but I might need to shorten it for myself. In that case, It would be nice if there was marking for the length.
Once more, I don't think there was any marking for the hip line. It also would be nice to have a hip line to alter the pattern!
They are high waist pants with a really fun waist band design and perfect leg shape. Very trendy and My friend loves them a lot.
It is so difficult to find fine fitting slacks and this is the way you can make your own. Nice easy construction (Assembling the waistband can be tricky for sewing beginners, but it's worth it) and a great-looking pair of pants!
Please check out my sewing video and let me know if you have any other question.
Happy sewing to all!
