The matching set trend is one of those looks that bends and adapts to its time. and I need a new going-out look so I made the matching set.

➡️What size did you make? I am 153cm and S size. (UK6 in general) I used #Newlook6691 #N6691 size 8 for the pants but I had to fix the size for my body. I will explain more below. This is really easy to sew.
No zipper but elastic band. so Sewing beginners also can try!
There are 2 options .
I am going to do option A which has slit details on the bottom hem.
And I used a vintage vogue sewing pattern No.1999 for the jacket.

➡️What fabric did you use? It is a suiting fabric and perfect for the spring/fall .
I used 4meters for both pants & the jacket.
This lilac color is so stunning, bold and cool. Or maybe lilac and violet are just the mood-boosting hues I am craving in my spring wardrobes. Maybe that is why I decided a full lavender look with a jacket & pants.

➡️What adjustments did you make and how long did they take? Re the Jacket, I had to alter so many aspects from the old vintage pattern to fit my body size well.
Re the pants, I had to use size 8 to reduce the waist size a little bit and make larger for the hip. My waist fits well between 6~8 and My hip works between 8~10. So I had to use size 8 to start with. The pants didn’t take long to make since this is super easy to sew (beginner friendly) as you can see the details here. I changed the waist band height 5cm from the original pattern of about 3cm and added the belt loops.

➡️What was the construction process like?
➡️Did the instructions make sense to you?
Re the pants, It is easy to sew as I said before. It is a high waisted elastic band trouser. so you don’t need to worry about adding a zipper.
The jacket has covered buttons, full sleeves, and lining. I used a vintage vogue sewing pattern No.1999 for the jacket. The high-rise flared pants were easy to make. I would like to make some darts and add a zipper to use this pattern again.

Like i said, Co-ords seem to be a big trend in fashion right now. So that is why I made these sets. It is very versatile. I can wear it all separately as well. This matching set will be my perfect summer staple.
I have made a sewing tutorial video for the trouser. Please check out and don't forget to like and subscribe. I also have a lot of sewing videos such as pattern reviews, sewing process, sewing tips. So if you are new, pls check out my channel as well.
