Robe inspired Jacket with Alice and co patterns

I was lucky to try this new pattern from Alice & Co.

It is called Lavender Robe and I am a tester before the pattern is published.

I always wanted to have a robe inspired jacket and Now I have one ;)

  • What size did you make?

I made UK6 for this design since this will provide some room for my fit and it was perfect !

  • How do you like the pattern's fit? Do you think the design works well for your particular body shape?

This is a Robe. so there isn’t much to comment about the fit. It fits well in general. Not too baggy or too tight.

  • What fabric did you use?

Suiting , 62" wide.

I bought it from the Leicester local market. I don't know the details, but It is very good quality.

  • what adjustments did you make and how long did they take?

I did not amend anything since it was for the pattern tester.

It took around a day to finish from cutting to sewing. It is easy to cut & sew so this will be perfect for a sewing beginner

  • Did the instructions make sense to you?

Yes! It was easy to follow. :)

Robe is one of the easy garments to sew! But not only about the sewing, it is an ongoing trend too.

  • what was the construction process like?

They want me to try a french seam finish for every area so i tried but my fabric was bit thick for some parts like the armhole. so i had to finish with an overlock only for that part. beside that, it was fun to try the french seams.

  • Will you make the pattern again? If so, what fit or design changes will you make?

I will definitely try this pattern again but i might make it longer, maybe mid-calf length. and i will still try a french seam finish for the next one as well. It just looks so nice and fancy! hahaha.
